I’m Nicole Minder a nature and studio still life photographer based in New York. I received my AAS at Suffolk County Community College and currently I’m attending Fashion Institute Of Technology to receive my BFA.
When I first started getting into photography I would capture the beauty of nature. I enjoy being able to show the details and colors of the nature around me, so I took that into a studio setting with products. Now, as well as photographing the beauty of nature, I’ve also started putting together compositions to help display the beauty of products.
As a young girl, I was always interested in learning about animals, watched wildlife documentaries on TV, and read National Geographic magazines. When I picked up my first digital camera, I was hooked. I soon began to realize the fulfillment I felt from being creative with the camera. I remember heading out to a local pond looking for subjects to photograph and came upon a Mallard duck sitting in the water with ripples surrounding him. That first photograph I took of that duck was the start of my desire to capture more of nature’s beauty. I capture an unobtrusive, close and intimate view into my subject’s lives; at their level and without disturbance. When I am somewhere shooting and an amazing scene unfolds with light, color, and beauty, I find peace I cannot find anywhere else.
